The InterGenerate Community Garden at Millwood is a collaboration between the Town of New Castle and InterGenerate. Located at the site of the former Millwood Swim Club at the base of Sand Street, the garden is currently being fenced and will be opening in May. InterGenerate’s vision is to help people grow food for themselves and for others who cannot afford fresh produce. We have built 30 raised beds, some of which are dedicated to growing food for donation.
We welcome all gardeners from New Castle. No experience is necessary, there is regular instruction for new gardeners. The garden is run and maintained by the gardeners themselves, with InterGenerate’s guidance. All gardeners choose a team to join and participate in the life of the garden in some active way. Come join our community and enjoy growing your own food as well as food for donation to those who need it.
